Verbs are words that show an action or state of being. Verbs can change their form to show when an action happens. The present tense tells about an action that happens now or regularly, while the past tense tells about an action that already happened.
Some verbs are called irregular verbs because they do not form their past tense by simply adding -ed. For example, go becomes went, eat becomes ate, and see becomes saw.
In this worksheet, practice identifying the correct past-tense form of irregular verbs. Read each verb carefully and draw a line to match the present-tense verb to its correct irregular past-tense form.
Directions: Draw a line to match the present tense to the irregular past tense of the verb.
